RIM Blackberry Wins Right to Keep Service Up, Customers Lose Service Anyways

Filed under: Law, Technology, The World — Posted by Fancy Pants on March 16th, 2006

After a long, hard-fought battle in which RIM and their Blackberry devices were threatened with being shut down altogether due to alleged patent infringement, and following a settlement which allowed them to keep the service going - many customers lost service yesterday anyways. Even more ironically, the loss of service was related to a software upgrade, which was RIM’s Plan B to keep customers up if they had not reached a settlement and been forced to switch off the patent-infringing service.

Sometimes you just can’t win for losing.

How Ironic is This??
