Infamous Pop-Up Spam Man Pops Up as Olympic Gold Winner

Filed under: Internet, The World — Posted by Irony Queen on February 16th, 2006

Dale Begg-Smith has just won a gold medal for Australia, in the Winter Olympics’ mogul (small bump jumping) skiing competition. He’s the third gold medalist to pop up for Australia during this year’s winter olympics in Turin, Italy.

But Begg-Smith is to date far more notorious for another kind of bump that people hit - pop-up ads. In Australia he’s known as the “spam man”, where he runs “an Internet pop-up advertising company that he describes as the third largest of its kind.”

In interviews, Begg-Smith refuses to name the company. No surprise there.

How Ironic is This??
